UnterWasserReich & Himmelsleiter
The nearby town of Schrems is home to the High Moor Nature Park and the UnterWasserReich, an interactive exhibition devoted to the ponds and moors of the Waldviertel. Within the nature park, the 20-metre-high Himmelsleiter rises 108 steps to a viewing platform with expansive views over the high moor and surrounding landscape. The path leading to it is accessible; the viewing tower itself and the nature park’s hiking trails are free to use and remain accessible outside the UnterWasserReich’s opening hours.
