Strandbad Gmünd
A natural swimming lake with around 7 hectares of water and a genuine sandy beach has been created in a former sand quarry in Breitensee, a district of Gmünd. During the summer months, swimming is permitted from 6:00 am to 9:00 pm and admission is free.
Alongside the swimming area, facilities include a kiosk, showers, changing cabins and complimentary loungers, parasols and equipment for volleyball and badminton. There is also a designated area for dogs, allowing four-legged guests to join a trip to the lake.
Strandbad Gmünd is ideal for a relaxed afternoon between exploring the town and discovering the natural attractions of the Waldviertel. Ample parking is available directly by the entrance.
